After I left my freelance job and joined the fine people at it’s learning, my old Benspopshop webpage has been neglected so much that I probably should have shut it down a long time ago. Nowadays I see more and more designers move onto showing their work on social media sites like Twitter, Tumblr or Flicker and more.
I can truly understand why. The amount of time you need to spend on updating your site/portfolio takes away valuable time form work projects, but at the same time your work doesn't stand out from the crowd.
Most of the talented designers I keep myself updated on, seem to have really nice looking personal webpages - I could mention Dan Cederholm's simplebits.com, Jon Hicks' hicksdesign.co.uk/journal or Jay Elliot Stocks' elliotjaystocks.com/.
These guys play in the kind of leauge that most of us others will never join, but nonetheless they inspire me greatly. So for this webpage I have absolutely no other ambition then to try and update it on a regular basis. It will mainly be a spare time project for keeping myself up to date on the latest CSS3 techniques, learning some nice jQuery tricks and posting some new graphic designs, icons or photos.
